Alison grew up in the Church, having two wonderful believing parents who encouraged her in her faith from an early age. One of the earliest memories she has is of her mother singing the hymns ‘Trust and Obey’ or ‘What a friend we have in Jesus’ to get her to go to sleep.

Alison always felt that mission work would play an important part in her life. She went to Teacher training college primarily to be able to offer the skill and teach abroad somewhere. After qualifying and then teaching for a few years, she joined the Mission organization ‘Interserve’ as she felt she had been called by the Lord to Lebanon. They recommended going to Bible college for at least a year before heading out to the country.

In Lebanon, she undertook to learn colloquial Lebanese Arabic, worked with the Church, visited ladies and assisted with a pre-natal clinic, which mostly Palestinian ladies attended. After discovering a murdered friend, her plans changed, and she relocated to Beirut, where she met with a wonderful group of friends who had discovered the wonders of worship.

On return to the UK, she went through a difficult time having PTSD, and it was the regular meeting with a close friend where the Lord took her deeper into worship and gave her a way into His throne room, which got her through and brought healing.

Since then, she has taught in schools for 20 years, has been a Sunday school teacher, youth worker, Alpha leader, prophetic artist and in a worship group- to name some of the roles she has had. But throughout the time, Jesus has taken her closer as she has sought Him and aims to be more and more like Him.

Currently Alison works as a carer in her local area and is enjoying developing her creativity- whether it is by painting in acrylics or watercolors, Lino printing, Poetry writing, or even patchwork!
